  • Configurable Data Transmitter
Basic data from other systems such as those for plant design (e.g. Intergraph PDS) can be imported into PRODOK with the configurable data transmitter. The data transmitter enables access to SQL databases and DBF, ASCII and Excel files. If you would like to compare and update the BASIC data in PRODOK with that from another system, the transmitter can generate a report of non-matching data.
    Process Data
Process data and limit values can be assigned to loop-names imported from P&I-diagrams. Data fields can be configured as visible, read-only or not empty. The process data can be edited directly in the I&C-database or in a separate database. The data in this database can be released and afterwards be imported into the I&C-database.
    Basic Engineering
The loop names, loop functions and service texts from P&I-diagram are the basis for generating the instrument index. By assigning typical device configurations from the master data to the loop names, the amount of devices of the instrument list is generated. The newly developed graphic signal flow diagram supports the process control engineer especially in the co-operation with general contractors abroad to transfer the required functionality of a loop. An essential part of this new function is the consistency check of the defined signals throughout different documents. Easy-to-use copying and editing functions support the efficient creation of the instrument list, Hook-Up’s and intrinsic safety certifications.
    Specification Forms
PRODOK provides a powerful tool for editing specification forms. Customer-specific, project-neutral specification forms can be designed with the integrated development tool. By entering data that is specific for manufacturer and type in these forms, a library of often – used devices, can be created. During project design the data is automatically supplemented with the loop related data. Variables from a translation table can be integrated in screens and reports for international projects. With a simple switch, specification forms can be printed in other languages. To use device specifications in inquiries and orders, they can be arranged in user definable documents. A library of pre-defined specification forms according to DIN/ISA S20 is available.
    Logic Diagrams
The PRODOK LOGIC DIAGRAMS module enables the creation of logic diagrams and their graphic symbols based on the following standards:

    • DIN 40900, Part 12
    • DIN 40719, Part 6
    • If you are not using DIN standards, PRODOK allows the user to generate symbols within the editor to meet your requirements.
The PRODOK Logic Diagram module enables the creation of logic diagrams with the AutoCAD system, the management of the created logic diagrams in the document directory and the online creation of cross-references that span pages.
    Detail Engineering
Based on the data entered in the PRODOK BASIC ENGINEERING module, resources required for a project are loaded from the master data with powerful copying functions. With the integrated editor, graphical wiring structure diagrams can be created. The wiring of the individual devices is carried out with cables and single wires. The cables used are automatically entered into the cable list along with their wiring information. This information is updated on-line if changes to the wiring are made. When the individual device channels have been assigned, PRODOK automatically connects the devices using cross connections. This avoids the need for time consuming and error prone manual signal routing.

PRODOK provides efficient support for construction –oriented design procedures that are usually employed with new designs. Construction documents such as wiring diagrams of field junction boxes and cable lists can be made available on time. Control room, cabinet layout and rack mounting diagrams, can be created using predefined symbols with the integrated graphical resources editor.

PRODOK features a powerful editor for graphical editing of loop diagrams. A loop diagram can be created with template drawings, macros, symbols, logic connections and other graphic elements. During editing of loop diagrams, discrepancies between devices of the loop diagram and the project database are displayed and recorded. In the same way, discrepancies between the wiring in the loop diagram and the project database are displayed and recorded. Data from the project database is automatically displayed at positions where text placeholders are defined. The loop diagrams can be edited by adding or removing macros, symbols, logic connections and other graphic elements. The project database is automatically updated.
    Document Administration
Document created during the project engineering are automatically registered in the document administration. The documents are assembled in groups and each document is assigned a revision index. The more advanced revision management allows to recognize and visualize changes in each data field. Deleted objects and contents are also clearly marked. Given a comparative date, specific changes can be revealed, which have occurred since that moment. Folders, folder sets and registers can be defined for the management and distribution of documentation. Indexes of folders and folder labels can be printed.
    Master Data
Master Data for the individual PRODOK modules can be shared across projects or defined for a single project. The master data can be quickly edited and updated using the powerful editing and copying functions. Editors for creating symbols, macros and template drawings for loop diagrams are integrated in PRODOK.
    Symbol Editor
The symbol editor enables the creation of symbols consisting of graphic elements, connection points and text placeholders. Connection points are those places on the symbol where a logic connection to another symbol is possible. Text placeholders, e.g. for pin names, equipment identifiers etc., are selected from a list with plain text. This saves PRODOK users from having to formulate the syntax for the text placeholders. Symbols are managed as master data objects in a library of symbol classes.
    Macro Editor
A macro is a combination of any number of symbols which can be linked by logic connections. Macros are managed as Master Data objects in a library of macro classes.
    Template Drawing Editor
A template drawing consists of title block, a combination of macros, symbols, logical connections and other graphic elements. Template drawings are managed as master data objects in a library. Title blocks are customer-specific and include the text fields with placeholders for legends. Title blocks are managed as master data objects in a library.
    Project Administration
Project data such as the project name and plant designation are managed in the PRODOK module Project Administration. The project data can be saved in any directory on the storage medium.
    User Administration
Access to data in the I&C-CAE system PRODOK is password protected. Access rights for specific projects can be assigned separately for each module for every user in the system. This assures high level protection of the data from misuse and unauthorized access.
    Table Mode
To view and change data in tabular form, the user can select table columns from the PRODOK database tables. The records to be shown can be selected by user definable filter strings. This results in a very efficient way to perform changes on multiple fields and records. All data that were changed from a specified date are marked in red color in the table. All data can be conveniently summarized and listed with the integrated query designer. Queries can be easily created by users and saved for each project. Query results can be displayed in tabular form on screen, printed in freely-definable report forms or exported as ASCII / DBF / XLS files. The powerful, integrated query language delivers the result in seconds, even when processing very large amount of data.
    Network Ready
PRODOK supports all Windows compatible networks. This means that the project data can be shared simultaneously by a variety of users in a team.
    Context – Sensitive Help
PRODOK features a Window’s based context sensitive help function that provides appropriate information wherever you are in the program with a simple click on a button.
    Web View
    Documents in Internet format:
    Search – Find – Print
The PRODOK module Web View was especially developed to store an I&C documentation created with PRODOK in a format, that can be accesses over Internet or Intranet. This results in various opportunities and benefits. An I&C documentation generated by Web View can be viewed and printed using any Internet browser (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox etc.). All indexes of the documentation are stored in HTML format and contains links to each single sheet of any document.
Due to the central storage of the I&C documentation in electronical form, the costly process to update multiple paper documentations at multiple locations is not necessary any longer.
The user can access the I&C documentation on the local hard disk or over internet or intranet. So it is very easy to distribute the I&C documentation on CD ROM.
    Benefits
Storing and accessing different revisions of the I&C documentation during the design phase. Storing and accessing the As-Built documentation during the maintenance phase. Distribution of the I&C documentation in electronical form.
